Welsh boxer Zack Davies is gearing up for his most exciting competition yet - the first ever Youth Olympic Games.

Zack, who is from Llanelli and boxes for Cwmgors ABC, is the only British boxer to qualify for the Youth Olympics, and has been acclimatising in Singapore since Monday. The competition starts tomorrow and runs until 26th August, with boxing taking place at the International Convention Centre from 21st August.

Zack gained his place after his performance in the AIBA World Youth Championships in Azerbaijan back in April.

Wales' national coach Tony Williams said: "Zack is so proud to be representing Great Britain as a Welsh speaking boxer. It is very hot and humid in Singapore, but training is going really well, he's coping brilliantly and can't wait for the boxing to start on August 21st."

"Zack appreciates that both GB and the British Olympic Association have helped give him a brilliant opportunity. Competition will be tough, as he's going in with the top five boxers at his age in the world, but he'll be giving everything he has."

If you'd like to send a message of good luck and support to Zack send it to hannah.mclafferty@gbboxing.org.uk and we'll pass it on to Zack.
