Welsh Development Squad boxer Joe Cordina (56kg) has reached the finals of the inaugural SportAccord World Combat Games.

Cordina beat Patrick Velky of the Czech Republic 3:2 in his semi final bout and will now face China's Jiawei Zhang in tomorrow's final.

The tournament is taking place until September 4th over three venues in Beijing, China, and features 13 different martial arts and combat sports, with 1108 participants from five continents in total taking part.

Joining Joe from the Welsh national team are Chris Jenkins (64kg) and Andrew Jones (91+). Jenkins defeated Pakistan's Amir Khan in his quarter final, but lost to Richabilige Hu of China in the semis. Jones was eliminated in the quarter finals by Romanian boxer Mihai Nistor.
